Cardiorespiratory Medicine

Cardiorespiratory medicine is the discipline that deals with cardiac and airway disease. Specialists in cardiorespiratory medicine are called upon to help find the solution to problems such as heart murmurs, persistent coughing, breathing difficulties, episodes of collapse (fainting or syncope), exercise intolerance and heart rhythm abnormalities (arrhythmias).
After an initial consultation at North Kent Referrals a patient will often be admitted for further investigations such as cardiac ultrasound, thoracic radiographs, electrocardiography, blood pressure measurement, bronchoscopy or 24-hour Holter monitor recording. Depending on the problem, pets may return home the same or the following day but some may need additional hospitalisation depending on their condition.
If you are coming to see the cardiologist at North Kent Referrals we will discuss with you the options available to best solve your pet's cardiorespiratory problems.
