Soft Tissue Surgery

A wide variety of congenital or acquired diseases are treated by soft tissue surgeons. They include ENT (ear, nose and throat) surgeries, thoracic (chest) surgeries and abdominal surgeries. The latter can involve any of the abdominal organs such as the stomach, intestines, liver, kidneys and other parts of the urinary tract.

Most soft tissue surgeries require cooperation between different services in the practice, such as diagnostic imaging and internal medicine. Nursing care also plays a pivotal role in the pre and post operative care of each patient. In soft tissue surgery, the final surgical outcome is the result of a group of dedicated professionals working together as a team with the support of state of the art equipment and facilities.

Common conditions seen by our soft tissue department include: brachycephalic airway obstruction, laryngeal paralysis, chronic otitis and other ear problems requiring total ear canal ablation, neoplastic diseases, hernias, porto-systemic shunts, patent ductus arteriosus, ectopic ureters and endocrinopathies.

At North Kent Referrals we will do our best to offer our help to both referring veterinarians and their clients with the aim of providing definitive diagnosis and treatment for companion animals in soft tissue surgery and all other specialities.
